West Point Market is sponsoring a competition for Ohio’s amateur beer and ale homebrewers. Beyond cash and other prizes, the winning brew will be showcased in bottles and on tap for craft brew enthusiasts to enjoy for a year. Your brew could come to life on our shelves and on tap next to the elite craft brews in America. Here’s how it works.
Amateur homebrewers enter bottles of their best beers and ales through July 13, 2013. Entries will be judged in flights against homebrews of a similar style, but total score determines the winner. The top 10 scores, regardless of style, will compete in a final live judging to be held at West Point Market’s Halloween Craft Brew Tasting on November 1, 2013 in Akron.
Cash and other prizes will be awarded to all 10 finalists on November 1st. The Grand Prize winning entry will be brewed and bottled commercially by Akron’s Thirsty Dog Brewing Company, and sold exclusively for a year at Akron’s West Point Market and the Winking Lizard Tavern throughout Northeast Ohio.
This competition is open only to amateur homebrew residents of Ohio, age 21 or older. See entry form for further details.

2012 HOMEBREW WINNERS
NICK AND JUSTIN HERSTICH'S AMERICAN BARLEYWINE
TO BE BREWED AND BOTTLED FOR SALE IN 2013

Winners of the 2012 Bottle My Brew Ohio homebrew competition were announced during the October craft brew tasting at West Point Market. Nick and Justin Herstich took 1st place with the American Barleywine recipe they call "Pooch Hooch".
In addition to a cash prize of $1,000, the Herstich's received a trophy, medals, a Winking Lizard Tavern gift certificate. Best of all, their American Barleywine will be brewed by Akron's Thirsty Dog Brewing and sold in bottles by West Point Market in Akron and on tap at the 14 Winking Lizard Tavern locations in Northeast Ohio.
