What's different about West Point Market's produce? Because we are a single store, it allows us to hand pick the best of what is available on a daily basis, the same way we did it in 1936.
Each morning, a West Point Market buyer is on-site at the Cleveland Produce Terminal long before sunrise. Because we buy it by the case rather than the pallet or truckload, we open each case before we say "yes". What's good at "the terminal" changes daily, and if it isn't good enough, we would rather be out at the store rather than sell you something that doesn't meet the grade.
When it is in season from local growers, a network of farms proudly deliver their harvest to our doors. From Zimmerman's garlic to Rittman's orchards to the few weeks each spring when local mushroom hunters bring us fresh morels, we stock the best of what's in season from Ohio; strawberries, apples, tomatoes, sweet corn, peaches, and melons, all picked within hours of arriving at the store. Heirloom tomatoes and other unique home-grown harvests are an increasing part of the locally grown offering you can enjoy.

Because there are so many choices of peppers or onions, apples and oranges, mushrooms, tomatoes or potatoes and pears, we have produce associates on hand ready to answer your questions or give you a sampling of what is ripe and ready today. We welcome our customers to try a slice before they buy it.
Our produce staff individually washes and trims items straight from the case before we'll sell it to you. We're proud of our cantaloupe, melons, and watermelon deliciously hand-cut to order and sold throughout the year for a taste of summertime in a snowstorm. We make our own signature guacamole from the same ripe avocados you'll buy in our case, our own fresh salsa and signature dips. And we squeeze a special mix of oranges for juice 365 days a year. That's fresh. Homemade granola. Fresh made peanut butter. Large Medjool dates and tasty dried tart cherries.
We're not different for the sake of it. We're doing what we have done for 75 years. But in today's commodity food world, well, that's different.
We proudly donate produce and day-old bread each morning to Akron's Good Samaritan Hunger Center.
